Last year, jewellery designer Holly Ryan took a once-in-a-lifetime trekking trip with her cousin and brand manager Amy Wren.

As we can't travel rn, we asked Holly to share her Nepal Travel Diary with us, and she obliged! Think of it as a visual vacation, with beautiful photography by Amy.

“We started in beautiful Kathmandu, which is just full of colour, and then flew to Lukla. From there, we hiked for two-weeks return to Everest Base Camp and back. It was one of the most challenging and rewarding things I have ever done.”

“I left my phone in Kathmandu so that I could really switch off. This made the trip such an immersive experience in culture and in nature."

“We didn’t drink for the two-week trek and ate meals of dahl and wanton noodle soup in small, home-run cafes. It was so good to spend this time with the local Nepalese people, who are so kind and friendly.”

“This trip was a big tick off my bucket list. We trekked to Everest Base Camp in Nepal and the next day summitted Mt Kalapather at 4am to watch the sunrise over Mt Everest. I would do it all over again any day, it was a truly magical experience.”

“I love Nepal and cannot wait to go back one day.”
