As the COVID-19 crisis continues, government bodies are recommending we wear masks to prevent further spread of the virus. And several awesome labels with ethical values have responded by making masks which blend fashion with function.

The Social Studio’s masks, for example, comply with DHHS guidelines and feature three layers of breathable, machine washable fabrics. These in-demand styles even use upcycled materials (including some surplus floral Again & Again fabric). And they are available at cost price.

Lois Hazel is another Melbourne-based brand that has been making masks during this time. Although the cool printed styles are currently sold out, we hope to see a restock of these practical pieces soon. “We were overwhelmed by the response and are working as quickly as we can to restock,” the brand said via Instagram.

Another Well Made label making masks right now is Limb. We especially love their Gingham Mask, which is reusable and reversible. Made using two layers of linen with a cotton voile in-between for extra protection, these masks follow DHHS guidelines and are currently available for pre-order.

Kuwaii’s face masks are also washable and reusable, using surplus Kuwaii fabrics. They are currently out of stock, but will be restocked online soon. The Social Outfit’s reusable masks are made using remnant fabrics too and feature beautiful prints for brightening up a winter’s day. The brand has put a daily cap on masks sold but are restocking more each day.

Finally, Par Moi’s printed masks make health and safety seem fun, with fruity and floral prints in a range of colours. These styles, too, are being restocked regularly, so keep checking their website and Instagram for details.

Alternatively, you can make your own non-medical mask, using our helpful How To Guide. You’re welcome!
