Off Carte Shares A Homemade Pasta Dough Recipe

In times of social distancing, we have been seeking to ground ourselves in any way possible. From organising our wardrobes, to re-reading favourite novels, we're returning to the simpler things in life. And one of those things is cooking.

Over recent weeks, the kitchen has become the centre of the home – a place for socialising and preparing delicious meals for friends and family. Which is why we’re joining the Off Carte Recipe Exchange, started by Joel Mevissen of Westmont Pickles (and our Fashion Editor, Rosie Dalton).

Below, Off Carte shares their pasta dough recipe – for unprecedented times of national shortage. And they invite you to share your own recipe image and text via Instagram Stories too. It's like one big (virtual) dinner party.

PASTA DOUGH FOR TWO

1. Add big pinch fine table salt to 1 cup flour of choice, then create a well in middle
2. Add 2 whole eggs, 1 extra yolk and glug of olive oil. Slowly mix flour into well
3. Fold ingredients in together and knead until it starts to feel silky
4. Set aside for thirty minutes and drink some wine
5. Cut into quarters, push it down and put through pasta roller (or hand roll like a nonna)
6. Use a machine (or your art stencils) to cut into the shape of your dreams

Bon appétit!
