In times of social distancing, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. But we are trying to stay positive – and keep the cabin fever at bay – by investing in some online classes for health and self.

Below is our round-up of some of the best online classes in the business. And keep an eye on our Instagram page this week too, for more helpful lessons in gardening, interior decorating, cooking and more.

Daily meditation can be really calming in times like these. And Caroline from Ananda Ra is hosting a Vedic Meditation Masterclass this Wednesday March 25th from 10am-12pm. Power Living also has an online platform called Yogaholics, through which you can access both meditation and yoga classes 24-hours a day, for $12 a month.

In addition to Yogaholics, Fluidform Pilates has an at-home program for $49 per month and Sydney Yoga Collective is live-streaming 32 of its yoga classes. It is $10 per week to receive unlimited access and these guys are also offering up five free classes each week. Also free are Melbourne-based yoga instructor Annie Belcher's audio classes. Or, if yoga isn't your thing, you might like to pretend you are a ballerina, with Ballet Beautiful’s streaming videos.

Pottery offers another grounding way to work with your hands. But, in times of social distancing, we are experimenting with using clay at home instead of in the studio. Fortunately, mother daughter duo The Ceramic House has got us covered, with online courses and Ceramiques Elsternwick are also offering at-home ceramics kits, delivered to your door.

For many, the kitchen has definitely become the heart of the home over recent weeks. And few things are more grounding than cooking. So we’re watching shows like David Chang’s Ugly Delicious on Netflix right now and joining the Recipe Exchange via Off Carte.

Self Practice Workshops

Lauren Trend and the team at Self Practice run a series of SP Online Workshops that deal with everything from creativity to body language. Our personal favourite? The Self Talk Workshop, for positive self-communication during a chaotic time.
