Just when we thought we couldn't love her more, SZA has launched an sustainable streetwear label. The singer shared a photo of a blue hoodie embroidered with the words 'Sustainability Gang' on her Instagram last week and our interest is definitely piqued. The photo links out to an Instagram page called Ctrl Fishing Company where SZA will be promoting her wares.

"Y'all ready to save the oceans or nah?" SZA asked in an Instagram story that featured more designs from the brand. If saving the ocean means wearing a 'Puck Flastic' t-shirt then, yes SZA, we are ready. This slogan is embroidered on the singer's collection of tees, singlets, track pants and customised Champion jumpers. It is unclear if this is an official collaboration with Champion or an independent project. Champion is owned by Hanesbrands, a company that currently has an F rating on the Shop Ethical guide. Various independent reports have criticised Hanesbrands for poor environmental practices and labour rights violations.

It's great to see an influential artist like SZA supporting sustainability. But, for products to be truly sustainable, they must be made sustainably. So far, SZA has not provided any information about where her Ctrl Clothing Company range is made, or what materials her products are made with, but she has confirmed that 100% of the profits from sales will be donated to environmental groups. Watch this space for more (hopeully good) news on this project.
