Clothing sizing:
Bra sizing:To make sure your bra fits perfectly, you can take a couple of measurements, and compare them to the size charts below.Measurement #1 Bust: measure all around your body at the at the fullest part of your bust (which is usually over the nipples).Measurement #2 Underbust: measure all around your body at the top of your rib cage (just under your bust).Sizing for soft cup styles:
Sizing for underwire bras:To fit underwire bras you need to find your band size and your cup size. Band size is easy: it's simply your underbust measurement. Cup size is a little more confusing (but still pretty easy): take your bust measurement, minus your underbust measurement from it, and the difference between these measurements gives you your cup size. For example, if the difference between your bust size and your underbust size is between 10.5cm and 13cm, your cup size is A, and so on.Firstly, get your band size:

Underwear is the thing we wear closest to our skin, so it’s probably quite important that it isn’t made with, and therefore doesn’t contain, any nasty chemicals.Enter Nico, the first underwear label to achieve Ethical Clothing Australia accreditation! Nico uses a few fabrics which feel good and are good, including: a special kind of modal, called certified Lenzing modal, which is produced via a crazy process in which wood pulp, from sustainably-sourced Beechwood, is turned into fabric; bamboo, which is environmentally friendly because it grows incredibly quickly without fertiliser; and 100% certified organic cotton.

All clothing is actually handcrafted, in that people, instead of Terminator-like robots, made it. This value takes handcrafting one step further, by celebrating the traditional skills of ancient communities and the advanced high level training that is required to make these clothes. For a label to meet the requirements of our handcrafted value, a minimum of 50% of each of its' products must be made using traditional handmade methods, that can only be completed by highly-skilled workers. Learn more about these super-talented people here.
We prefer the clothing we wear, you know, directly on our skin, to be free from nasty chemicals. We're also environmentally conscious – the planet's pretty great, right? Which is why all labels which meet this value must make at least 80% of their products from sustainable materials. When we talk about 'sustainable', we're not just talking about ‘natural’, either. We're talking about organic textiles, transition cotton, certified closed loop viscose, recycled polyester and nylon, recycled cotton, and hemp. To meet this value labels may also be using low-impact dyes or be climate neutral. Check out our full write-up on our sustainable value here.
If you shop at your local green grocer because you like knowing you’re supporting the little, local, good guys, then this is the value for you. With globalisation, local fashion manufacturers are suffering. For a brand to meet the requirements of this value, 80% of its products must be sewn in the country its business is based. Find out why it’s important to shop local here!
Rest easy in the knowledge that the people who made the clothing you buy from this value are treated the same way you’re treated: with minimum wages; safe working conditions; voluntary overtime; and freedom of association. In order for a label to meet the requirements of this value, its' manufacturers must be accredited with a globally recognised, independent certifier – no dodgy audits here! On average, every person in Australia throws out 35kg of clothing every year, and the brands which make it can be just as wasteful. Luckily, the brands in this value are using new tech to upcycle, recycle, and reduce waste. In order to meet the requirements of this value, 70% of the label's products have to be made-to-order, made using minimal-waste pattern-making, or made in a process in which the label is actively reducing effluents, and recycling water and electricity. It’s all about minimisation, and you can find out more here.
No animals were harmed in the making of this value. Or these products. You can find out more information about animal products in the fashion industry here.
The labels who make the products in this value are trying to make the world a better place for female-identifying people. In order for a label to meet the requirements of this value, it must comply with equal employment rights, anti-discrimination laws, employ female-identifying people in managerial roles, provide equal pay, upskilling, training, and family support. As fiercely independent feminists ourselves, this is something we truly get behind. Find out more here.
When your mates compliment you on the clothing you bought from this value (which they will do), you will be able to tell them that you can trace this piece of clothing, from the clothing producer right down to the raw materials, because that's what labels have to be able to do in order to meet the requirements of this value. Cocktail chatter game: strong. Find more about our Transparent value here.
